History And The Call Of God
Dr.
Gene Williams was privileged to pastor for over
47 years. Upon completion of his pastoral
ministry, the Lord distinctly laid the need to
encourage and uplift pastors and their families
upon the hearts of both Gene and his wife, Joyce.
And thus Shepherds' Fold Ministries was
begun.
Their
experiences over the years have enabled both of
them to have great empathy and understanding of
the heartfelt needs of pastoral families today.
From pastoring a church with memberships ranging
from 12 to over 1,400, Gene can relate to the
special concerns, problems, and pressures pastors
are experiencing. In most cases, Gene and Joyce
can say “We understand because we have been where
you are.” They feel that God wants to use their
experiences in a preventive mode, to help those
who are actively involved in ministry or
preparing for ministry.
Shepherds
Fold Ministries is intended to encompass all
boundaries. Gene and Joyce have a burning desire
to be a part of breaking down walls and barriers
for the advancement of their kingdom.
It
was a great privilege for Gene to be the founding
President of the Wichita Alliance of Evangelical
Churches and to serve in that capacity for over
ten years. Both Gene and Joyce are blessed to
work frequently with the Billy Graham
Evangelistic Association on special assignments.
They speak regularly for conferences and retreats
across the country and around the world.
These
and many other opportunities bring them into
constant contact with pastors and spouses from
numerous denominations and backgrounds. Many are
dealing with multiple issues and stresses. Some
are finding it difficult to continue. Shepherds
Fold Ministries is available to these hurting
pastors - to be a part of keeping the shepherds
in their fields of service.
