DAY OF RENEWAL XI Various Reactions
Monday | December | 2009 10:17 AM
"I really needed Day of Renewal this year. It has
been so tough for us. Lots of turmoil in our
church and family crises. Thanks for making this
time available for us to come and get re-filled."
"The Briscoes were such a blessing. As always, we left encouraged in our hearts."
"The Day of Renewal was a wonderful blessing to me. It has been a long time since I could relax and be refreshed like that. I am so glad I took the time to attend."
"Thank you and your donors so much for providing such a special day. Even it was rainy and cold outside, we could feel lots of warmth and love inside."

DAY OF RENEWAL X Thoughts - Leila Gray

I am so
thankful to God and to Gene and Joyce for their
obedience to God's call to provide such a unique and
relevant service to pastors and spouses as Day of
Renewal. As I reflect on this year's Day,
-the worship experience was
uplifting and refreshing--drawing us into God's
Presence
-the time of healing prayer and meditation was powerful
-the Williams' spirits are just so humble leading us by example--even when their own physical conditions are not 100% (Gene with Bell's palsy this year--Joyce with heart and kidney problems in previous years--like Paul not letting his thorn in the flesh stop him from doing God's work)
-HB London's messages were engaging, inspiring, encouraging, joyful, convicting, relevant and genuine.
-the books and teaching (and now supper) that is provided to us doesn't cost us any money--free, like God's grace. What a gift!
I have attended 9 of the 10 Days of Renewal (I think). It is a highlight of my year. It's a time when we don't have to "perform," and we get a good reminder again of the high calling we serve and where we need to turn when our strength and joy seem totally sapped. We get a glimpse of the bigger picture--that we are not in this alone; that our struggles are not so unique; that others are in the same war (and we can become acquainted with them)--some people's battles are harder or easier than others; that we need to not wallow in self-pity, but to realize that God has called and equipped us for the work we're doing; that we need to keep our eyes fixed on Him and love Him and trust Him enough to truly love the people we serve. This is truly a Day of RENEWAL!
God bless you--for your humble obedience to Him and to us!
